You know the phrase, “hindsight is 20/20?” I hate how true it is. I’m quickly approaching 30 (Caryn Noel here) and I want to share a few things I wish I knew sooner. I hope it helps you!
AIRLINE LOYALTY: This is especially important if you travel often. Staying loyal to an airline = STATUS. Status = good things like: upgrades, lounge access, free checked bags, etc. In addition to gaining status with an airline, you will also acrew miles with them which you can later use to purchase plane tickets.
LOVE YO FACE: Nobody explained to me the importance of being kind to your face. If I saw a pimple, I had to destroy it. I overdosed on acne care products + constantly switched up my routine if I didn’t see immediate results. To make matters worse, I daily lathered my face with toxic foundation to cover it all up. EPP! My advice now is to be kind to your face + keep those ingredients simple + more natural! Get a good PH balancing facial cleanser (big fan), a quality moisturizer (this or this), spot treatment (heyyyo!) sunscreen (this) and if you want to wear foundation make sure it’s one with good + natural ingredients (i love this!). Sunscreen often gets overlooked but don’t forget to add it to your daily face care routine. I always knew it was important when I went to the beach or pool but I didn’t know it was a good everyday kinda’ thing too! It can prevent skin cancer, as well as, wrinkles from hitting you before your time. Freckles + a tan are cute but skin cancer is not.
INVEST: It could be in stocks or simply putting your dollazzz in a bank account that accrues interest overtime. It honestly doesn’t matter WHAT you do, just be smart + make it work for ya.
SELF CARE: Be intentional about carving out time for yourself to be quiet, reflect, meditate, etc. It won’t happen if you don’t make time for it! Also, consider seeing a counselor to work on those issues! It truly isn’t a step back but a leap forward. Investing in your personal wholeness will benefit every area of your life from work to romance + everything in between. Note: if you are a college student, your university may offer this service for free--take advantage of that!
HEALTH: Be mindful of what you put in your body. You cannot run on coffee, booze & donuts. Eat well, workout, drink lots of water + try natural alternatives before hitting the heavy antibiotics. There are simple things you can do like taking a good daily vitamin or keeping a nutrient packed granola bar in your bag/car (kind bars, RX bars + lara bars are my faves!).
xx,
Caryn Noel
