• Make sure that you have the right documents (passports & visas)
• Call your credit card company & let them know where you will be + how long you will be abroad.
• Make two photocopies of your passport. Leave one of the copies with a trusted friend//family member & place the other copy in your luggage (IMPORTANT: a different bag other than your actual passport)
• Headed somewhere off the beaten path? Get Enrolled in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). It is FREE!
• Purchase Travel Insurance (Hopefully nothing will happen whilst you are enjoying your adventure, but trust us… it is ALWAYS better to be insured just in case you need medical attention or an evacuation).
• Travel often? Look into the Global Entry program for ease with future adventures.
• In the notes section of your phone, write down the address/ phone number of the U.S. Embassy or consulate of the country that you are traveling to. You can find this info here.
